One small task a day

# 30-day declutter planner

Clear a small flat room by room in short daily sessions, from the front door to the wardrobe. Tick each day off as you go: the checklist remembers where you are.

## How to use the plan

Pick a time that fits your day and set a timer. Most tasks take ten to twenty minutes; stop when the timer goes, even if a drawer is half done. Keep three bags or boxes to hand, for keep elsewhere, give away and recycle, and take the give-away bag to the door the same day so it doesn't drift back in.

### Keep, give away, sell or recycle?

- **Keep** what you use, what you'd buy again, and papers you are required to hold on to.
- **Give away** clean, working, complete things. Charity shops and donation points set their own rules, so check before taking furniture, electricals or mattresses.
- **Sell** larger items locally, and set a date after which anything unsold is donated.
- **Recycle** by your council's or city's rules. Batteries, electricals, paint and light bulbs usually need their own collection points rather than the household bin.

**Selling on a local listing site?** Buyers and timewasters will email you, and the address you list with tends to collect messages long after the sale. For a quick one-off listing, a [free temporary inbox from CleanTempMail](https://cleantempmail.com/) works without signing up and empties itself after three days, which keeps your everyday address out of it.

## Questions

**What if I miss a day?**

Carry on with the next unticked day. The plan is a sequence, not a calendar, and the next task is highlighted for you.

**Is my progress saved?**

Yes, in this browser's local storage on this device only. Nothing is sent anywhere. Untick all to start again.

**Can I do it faster?**

Do two or three days at a weekend if you like. The short daily sessions are there to make a start easy, not to slow you down.
